Tramway Court, Dublin 24
The initial development project at Tramway Court featured a total of 15 one-bedroom apartments, designed to cater to the needs of modern urban living.
RBD played the role of the main contractor on a design and build basis, successfully delivering 10 high-end residential one-bedroom properties along with 5 fully liveable properties designed specifically for wheelchair accessibility, all located in Tallaght, Dublin 24.
RBD took a proactive approach in the design of accessible environments, working closely with the Irish Wheelchair Association to ensure the provision of 5 wheelchair-accessible homes within the Tramway Court scheme.
Subsequent work on the site, executed by RBD, included the oversight and design of an additional 14 purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) units contributing to the overall community.
A Unique Development
RBD undertook the significant conversion of the vacant office space in the development, which was originally constructed in 2004, transforming it into high-quality residential use. Ensuring compliance with current building regulations was a key aspect of this project for RBD, with particular attention given to Part B (Fire Safety) & Pat M (Access / Egress).
Tramway Court in Dublin 24 comprises of fifteen one bedroom apartments. What is unique about this scheme is that the units are located in a space that was previously commercial office. For RBD, a key aspect of the delivery was ensuring compliance with Part B (fire) and Part M (access/egress) in line with the building regulations. Where necessary the commercial grade curtain walling was replaced but for the most part RBD worked in collaboration with the Design Team to mitigate as much major alterations as possible whilst maintaining a nice setting for the apartments meaning they are bright and spacious.
