Tramway Court
Tramway Court, Dublin 24
The initial development project at Tramway Court featured a total of 15 one-bedroom apartments, designed to cater to the needs of modern urban living.
RBD played the role of the main contractor on a design and build basis, successfully delivering 10 high-end residential age friendly one-bedroom properties along with 5 fully liveable properties designed specifically for wheelchair accessibility, all located in Tallaght, Dublin 24.
RBD took a proactive approach in the design of accessible environments, working closely with the Irish Wheelchair Association to ensure the provision of 5 wheelchair-liveable homes within the Tramway Court scheme.
Subsequent work on the site, executed by RBD, included the oversight and design of an additional 14 purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) units contributing to the overall community.
A Unique Development
What is unique about the project is that the units were located in a space that was previously commercial office space.
RBD undertook the significant conversion of the existing vacant office space in the development, which was originally constructed in 2004, transforming it into high-quality residential use. Ensuring compliance with current building regulations was a key aspect of this project for RBD, with particular attention given to Part B (Fire Safety) & Part M (Access / Egress). RBD worked in collaboration with the Design Team to mitigate major structural alterations whilst maintaining the integrity of the building and environment.
